Most people experience flu-like symptoms shortly after they have been infected with HIV: for example, fever, fatigue, night sweats, swollen lymph nodes, sore throat or rash. That’s why it’s important to remember: anyone who exhibits the symptoms of a viral infection outside of flu season in the days or weeks after having unprotected sex should see a doctor immediately.
